Merchandiser
What is the difference between a field, district and freelance merchandiser?
Whether you are a freelance, district or field merchandiser, you work according to a predefined job list, visiting grocery stores, DIY stores and specialty stores. Here, you ensure that shelves are well stocked, attractive displays and POS materials are in place, and that shelf space is optimised. The overall difference between a district and freelance merchandiser is:
District Merchandiser:
- Minimum 25 hours per week
- A fixed district
- Opportunity for additional hours
- Opportunity for a company car
- Occasionally support the onboarding and training of new colleagues
Freelance Merchandiser:
- No regular hours
- Take on shifts as they become available
- Perfect for students, retirees or people with other employment who want complete flexibility.
Do you have regular stores?
Partly. Assignments vary from day to day, but you will typically visit the same stores within your district.
Do I need retail experience to become a merchandiser?
It is not a requirement, but it is an advantage. We will provide you with thorough training, so you are ready to handle your tasks in stores.
Which brand will I be working with?
As an employee at IN-STORE, you will work with many different brands. If you are a merchandiser, you may work with several brands in a single day. If you are a demonstrator, you will typically represent one brand at a time. You can see some of the brands we work with on our homepage.
Do I need my own car?
Not necessarily.
If you have your own car, you may be eligible for mileage reimbursement. If you do not have a car or do not wish to use your own, a company car may be available (only applies to district merchandisers).
Important: The company car may only be used for travel to and from stores during working hours. Therefore, it is not permitted to use the car for private purposes.
How is the pay structured?
All merchandisers are paid hourly.
Demonstrator / Brand Ambassador
Do I need retail experience?
No, it is not a requirement. As long as you are motivated to work in stores and provide customers with a great experience and excellent service, we will make sure you receive the training you need.
Do you have regular stores?
No, it varies from job to job. However, it is quite possible that you will have several shifts at the same store from time to time.
Which brand will I be working with?
As a demonstrator and brand ambassador at IN-STORE, you will work with many different brands. However, you will typically represent one brand at a time. You can see some of the brands we work with on our homepage.
Do I work alone or with others?
- If you are a demonstrator and are going to hand out product samples in stores, you will most often work alone.
- If you are a brand ambassador, you will most often work together with others, for example at trade shows and events.
Do I need my own car?
Yes, it is a requirement that you have your own car. This is because you need to bring equipment (such as a table, hot plate, signs, etc.) that is used for the job.
How is the pay structured?
You will be paid hourly, and your salary will be paid into your NemKonto once a month.
